IN GAME FOOTAGE!
It’s long been a dream of Fat Conan to be able to contribute to the gaming world by producing his very own independent gem. More specifically, he’s always wanted to write a vertical-scrolling shooter in the vein of DoDonPachi with multiple characters to choose from and a whole bunch of “new” and “innovative” features. However, Fat Conan’s apathy combined with the fact he’s not a real programmer has made pursuit of this dream a somewhat long-winded process. So long-winded in fact that he finished his degree and changed job twice in the time between deciding to write one and actually starting to code it.
Anyway, all that has changed, as of this moment, when FC is able to unveil the first screen-shots of his work, and I think you’ll agree they’re of the quality you’d expect from established and respected game developers. Here they are, the first glimpses of the project FC has codenamed “Serpentine Pad” after the song that was playing when he started writing it.

Here we can see the exciting and involved game-play as the player’s “KimDealHead” model space ship approaches the enemy’s “KimDealHead” model space ship over the surface of the planet “Krackblaarg”, the ice planet.
Now we see the player engaging the enemy in a high speed, white-knuckle clash of lasers. Here the player’s tactics are the key to victory and not (as you might expect) the collision between the bounding box of the bullets and that of the enemy, which we’re hoping to add in the sequel.

There we go, I know we’re still in the early stages but I’m sure you’ll agree it’s been a long while since anyone has showcased a game with this much potential.

Anywayz. What do you mean not a ‘real’ developer… it’s not like you’re Flash or anything.

Greatest game in the world? Probably not. But rather awesome, it must be said.
My vote for the final ship sprite goes to the Ikaruga ship (white variant).
